SoftCo, Saba and the Ireland Women’s Hockey team join to support frontline workers

As a mark of appreciation for the tireless efforts of Ireland’s frontline workers over the last 12 months, SoftCo recently teamed up with Saba restaurants to donate over 1,000 meals to frontline healthcare workers. The Ireland Women’s Hockey team were on hand to assist Saba with the distribution of meals to a selection of hospitals, whilst adhering to social distancing rules.

Throughout the month of February 2021, a group of SoftCo staff globally took part in a ‘Steps’ Charity Challenge. With lockdowns and remote working reducing movements throughout the day, the SoftCo staff members took on the steps challenge as a way of keeping fit and getting out in the fresh air. A target of 8 million steps was set and the team exceeded the goal with a final tally of over 9.3 million steps.

To mark this fantastic effort, SoftCo donated 1,000 meals to frontline and healthcare in appreciation for the efforts that each and every one of them has made during the last year. In addition, a donation was made to Save the Children on behalf of the Finnish staff who took part in the challenge.

Commenting on the achievement, SoftCo Co-Founder, Susan Spence, said:

“The work of our frontline workers over the last 12 months is truly appreciated and we are glad to have been able to give a little something back to them. We were conscious of the need for our staff to get outside for some regular exercise while working remotely and the enthusiasm shown by everyone during the challenge was brilliant. We felt it was fitting to mark their efforts with a donation to a group who have given us so much during these difficult times.”
