We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Lead to establish and scale our Cloud Operations and Centre of Excellence (CCoE). This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise to drive best practices across CloudOps, SecOps, FinOps, DevOps, Observability, Infrastructure, IT Support, and Release Management.

Cloud Platform Lead – Your role:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Lead to establish and scale our Cloud Operations and Centre of Excellence (CCoE). This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise to drive best practices across CloudOps, SecOps, FinOps, DevOps, Observability, Infrastructure, IT Support, and Release Management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and cost efficiency of our internal and external infrastructure while supporting the company’s rapid growth.
Your responsibilities:
Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) Leadership
- Establish and lead the CCoE, ensuring alignment with AWS Well-Architected principles and our company goals
- Build and oversee core functions:
- CloudOps – Scalable and reliable cloud operations.
- Observability – Proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- SecOps – Security best practices, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- FinOps – Cost governance and cloud spend optimisation.
- ProductOps – 3rd level support and SaaS upgrade management
- Drive automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement through infrastructure-as-code and self-service cloud management.
- Foster collaboration with engineering, security, and finance teams to integrate cloud best practices into operations.
- Create a high-performing and collaborative culture, mentoring and developing the team.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure the stability, scalability, and security of all infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Own IT policies, ensuring compliance with GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001, and other standards.
- Implement observability and site reliability management for real-time system performance monitoring and proactive issue resolution.
Hands-On Contribution
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshoot complex issues when needed.
- Lead critical incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term resolution strategies.
- Develop automated monitoring and alerting systems to enhance operational resilience.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Align cloud operations with business needs, partnering with product, engineering, and customer success teams.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
- Regularly report on KPIs for operational performance, security posture, and cloud costs.
Your profile:
Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in building and modernising a CCoE, aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles.
- Expertise in AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, cost optimization) and IT operations across FinOps, SecOps, DevOps, and Infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, IT service management, and security frameworks (SOC2, GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Experience in monitoring, observability, and site reliability engineering (SRE) to ensure system uptime and transparency.
Leadership & Management
- 8+ years in IT, with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
- Proven ability to build and scale teams, balancing hands-on technical work with strategic oversight.
- Strong communication skills, translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving & Innovation
- Track record of solving complex technical challenges and driving innovation in Tech Operations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scale-up environment with evolving business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in relevant areas (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, ITIL, CISSP).
- Previous experience in a SaaS or technology company environment.
- Experience implementing IT automation tools and processes.
