Senior QA Engineer

We are looking for a proactive and self-organizing QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic and agile development team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality cloud-native solutions that are containerized and integrated into a FinOps, SecOps, and DevOps environment in AWS. You will work closely with a global team, focusing on mastering the business, product, and technical aspects of a well-defined market problem.

Senior QA Engineer  – Your role

We are looking for a proactive and self-organizing QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic and agile development team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality cloud-native solutions that are containerized and integrated into a FinOps, SecOps, and DevOps environment in AWS. You will work closely with a global team, focusing on mastering the business, product, and technical aspects of a well-defined market problem. As part of the QA team, you will contribute to the automation of testing processes, primarily using Playwright and Rest Assured, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of our solutions.

Your responsibilities

  • Test Automation: Design, implement, and maintain automation test scripts using Playwright and Rest Assured, ensuring comprehensive test coverage for cloud-native applications.
  • Automation Framework Development: Contribute the development and maintenance of a robust automation framework. Analyse testing requirements across our product offerings and ensure the automation framework aligns with requirements
  • Shift Left: Be an advocate for shifting quality left in the SDLC. Engage with other stakeholders to support our ‘Shift left’ initiative and ensure quality in the SDLC in the context of testing at all different levels (unit, component, integration, e2e, etc.)
  • Agile Collaboration: Work within an agile development environment, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and operations teams.
  • Cloud Native Solutions: Test and validate applications that are containerized and deployed on AWS, ensuring they meet security (SecOps), operational (DevOps), and financial (FinOps) standards.
  • Domain Mastery: Gain deep understanding of the assigned domain to ensure the QA process supports the overall business and technical goals of the team.
  • Mentorship: Lead and monitor the design and implementation of automated test cases. Coach junior resources on QA automation best practices
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of test frameworks, tools, and processes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA lifecycle.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure test cases and automation scripts account for the necessary security protocols, adhering to SecOps principles and AWS best practices.
  • Proactive and Self-Organizing: Act independently to identify areas for improvement, seek out opportunities to enhance product quality, and drive solutions.

Your profile

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

  • Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer or in a similar role, ideally in cloud-native environments.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, with knowledge of scrum and other agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in automation testing tools, with a distinct advantage for Playwright experience.

DevOps / FinOps / SecOps Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code).
  • Awareness of FinOps for cloud cost management, ensuring solutions are cost-efficient.
  • Understanding of SecOps principles to ensure security and compliance in automation testing.

Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of AWS and experience working with cloud-native applications deployed using containers (e.g., Docker).
  • Familiarity with other automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or similar is a plus.
  • Experience working with international and distributed teams.
  • Knowledge of AWS-native services like Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and related testing strategies.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively in a distributed, international team.
  • Proactive, self-organizing, and able to work autonomously.
