Finance Assistant

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of SoftCo’s Finance function. You will take ownership of the revenue invoicing process, manage procurement from a Finance perspective, and provide critical support for automation projects and external audits.

Finance Assistant – Your role:

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of SoftCo’s Finance function. You will take ownership of the revenue invoicing process, manage procurement from a Finance perspective, and provide critical support for automation projects and external audits. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, delivering timely and accurate financial reporting while maintaining adherence to company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Your responsibilities:

  • Responsible for SoftCo’s revenue invoicing process, using our internal sales system and Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all revenue invoices are issued in a timely manner.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to both customer and internal enquiries.
  • Manage the procurement process from a Finance perspective, including procurement of 3rd party software, hardware and associated support.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as and when requested.
  • Provide assistance to the Finance department as requested.
  • Assist with Finance automation projects.
  • Assist in delivering the external audit process requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies at all times.
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required by the business/VP of Finance.

Your profile:

  • Previous work experience in a small Finance function.
  • Proficient in Accounting.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of processes from start to finish.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, experience working with Microsoft Dynamics GP would be a bonus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good business acumen for problem solving.
  • Confidence in dealing with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
